Who has resigned as Lieutenant Governor of Delhi - Najeeb Jung
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 22nd December 2016 Najeeb Jung has resigned as the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi with 18 months left in his tenure.
He said, he wants to return to his "first love, academics".
However, Mr Jung's three years in office were dogged by his constant power tussle with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.
While CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted – ‘Sh Jung's resignation is a surprise to me, my best wishes in all his future endeavours. (sic)"
China launched which satellite to monitor global carbon emissions – TanSat Satellite
Among Important International Current Affairs, China successfully launched a satellite named as TanSat, a global carbon dioxide (CO2) monitoring satellite to understand the effects of climate change.
However, it was launched on board of Long March-2D rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northwest China’s Gobi Desert.
It is known to be the 243rd mission of the Long March series rockets.
Also with this, now China became third country after Japan and United States to have its own satellite to monitor greenhouse gases (GHGs).

Which country approves biggest defence budget – Japan
Among Important International Current Affairs, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s cabinet approved 5.13 trillion yen ($43.6 billion) in defence spending for the fiscal year starting in April 2017.
However, iIt is Japan’s highest annual defence budget announced so far.
Well, it is up by 1.4% from the initial budget for the current fiscal year. Also now it will be sent to Parliament (Diet) for debate and approval.
Who has been appointed as a Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu - Girija Vaidyanathan
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 22nd December Girija Vaidyanathan who is an Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Land Administration, has been appointed as a Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu in place of P. Rama Mohana Rao.
However, Ms.Vaidyanathan will also hold full additional charge of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative Reforms.
