MoU for cooperation in SME sector finalized by – IORA
Among Important National Current Affairs, IORA which is commonly known as Indian Ocean Rim Association member-states have finalised Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) for cooperation in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) sector.
However, the MoUs were finalised during the Workshop on MSME Cooperation amongst IORA member countries, which was held in New Delhi.
Also, they will take effect for each party upon signature by 5 countries.
Who has signed MoU to co-regulate misleading advertisements in the AYUSH sector – Ministry of AYUSH, ASCI
Among Important National Current Affairs, on 20th January 2017 Ministry of AYUSH has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI).
However, the MoU was inked with an aim to curtail the malpractices in the advertisement of AYUSH drugs.
According to the MoU, ASCI will comprehensively monitor advertisements the cases of misleading advertisements of Ayurveda, Unani, Yoga and Naturopathy, Siddha and Homoepathy drugs, treatments and related services, advertised across print and electronic media.
Union Government clears Tamil Nadu’s Ordinance on – Jallikattu
Among Important National Current Affairs, The Union Government has Tamil Nadu government’s proposal to promulgate an ordinance to hold Jallikattu, which is a traditional bull taming sport.
However, the Union Ministries of Home, Law and Environment has vetted the state’s draft ordinance and cleared this amendment.
Well now, Tamil Nadu Governor can promulgate ordinance as per Article 213 of the constitution.
