Who was sworned is as new Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh - Kalikho Pul
Among Political Current Affairs, On 19th Feb 2016, Kalikho Pul was elected as new Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He became CM after he got support from 18 rebel MLA's of congress, two independent MLA's and also 11 MLA's of BJP gave him outside support. His oath was administered by Governor of AndraPradesh J P Rajkhowa.
There were political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh as in June 2015 14 congress MLA's were suspended by Speaker. There was also short president rule which was lifted on 19th february 2016.
Who was elected as new President of Central African Republic - Faustin-Archange Touadera
Among Internaltional Current Affairs, On 20th February, Faustin-Archange Touadera (Former Prime Minister of the Central African Republic) was declared as winner in the second round of presidential elections.
He has also served as Prime Minister of the Central African Republic from January 2008 to January 2013.
India inked seven agreements including utilisation of Indian grant of 250 million US dollars with - Nepal
Among Important National Current Affairs, On 20th Febraury 2016, India and Nepal inked seven agreements and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) to boost the bilateral cooperation which includes the utilisation of Indian grant of 250 million US dollars to Nepal for post-earthquake reconstruction and another on improving of roads in Terai region. Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. KP Sharma Oli is on five day visit to India which is from 19th February to 24th February 2016.
Do You Know : It is the first foreign visit of Mr. KP Sharma Oli after assuming office since October 2015 so it is very important for India - Nepal ties too.
Who won 2016 Welsh Open - Ronnie O'Sullivan
Among Sports Current Affairs, On 21st February 2016, Ronnie O'Sullivan won BetVictor Welsh Open title held at the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff, Wales. He defeated Neil Robertson to clinch this title.
Which team won 2016 Hockey India League - Punjab Warriors
Among National Sports Current Affairs, On 20th Feb 2016, Punjab Warriors defeated Kalinga Lancers by 6-1 to pick Hockey India League (HIL) title in the fourth edition of the six-team tournament. This final was played at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
This time Punjab warriors finally won this series as in last two tournaments they finised on second spot.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das presented the winner title to them.

Rurban Mission in Chhattisgarh was launched by - PM Narendra Modi
On 21st February 2016, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee National Rurban Mission was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kurubhat village in Dongargarh block of Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh. Aim of this scheme or mission is to develop smart village on the line of smart cities and reduce the burden of migration to the cities through adopting cluster approach.
High-thrust Cryogenic Engine CE-20 was successfully tested by - ISRO
On 19th February 2016, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully tested high-thrust cryogenic engine CE-20. It was tested at Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu.
This will be used for GSLV Mark 3 in December 2016 which is biggest rocket made in India till now. It will be capable of launching 4 tonne satellites into geosynchronous orbit.
Important to tell you here that before this cryogenic engines were used to power India's GLSVs which were given by Russia.

Who scored fastest test century in 54 balls - Brendon McCullum ( New Zealand )
Among Important Sports Current Affairs, On 20th February 2016, Brendon McCullum scored fastest test century. Captain of New Zealand Brendon McCullum scored it in just 54 balls while playing against Australia.
Before this, fatest test century record was held by Viv Richards (West Indies) and Misbah-ul-Haq (Pakistan) jointly.
Who was appointed as new Chief Justice of Orissa High Court - Justice Vineet Saran
Among Important Appointments, On 22nd 2016, Justice Vineet Saran was appointed as new Chief Justice of Orissa (Odisha) High Court by President Pranab Mukherjee. He was serving as senior judge of Karnataka High Court at the time of appointment.
Aditya Birla Nuvo formed a joint venture for setting up Payments Bank with - Idea Cellular
On 19th February 2016, Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd (ABNL) and Idea Cellular Limited announced to form a joint venture "Aditya Birla Idea Payment Banks Limited". In this new venture Aditya Birla Nuvo wil have 51 percent share while Idea Cellular will have remaining 49 percent share.

Who won Rio Open Title - Francesca Schiavone
On 21st February 2016, Italian woman Tennis player Francesca Schiavone won Rio Open title. She defeated Shelby Rogers of America by 2-6, 6-2 and 6-2 to won this prestigious title in a final held at Rio De Janeiro.
