Which state has implemented National Food Security Act, 2013 - Odisha
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 16th November 2015, Odisha has implemented National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013 in 14 of the 30 districts.
In the first phase, the beneficiaries would get 5 kg of wheat at 2 rupees or 5 kg of rice at 3 rupees from PDS centres.
The 14 districts include Balangir, Deogarh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal,Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Boudh, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nuapada, Kalahandi and Angul. From 1st December 2015, the second phase of the NFSA will be implemented.
Who has won the World Junior Badminton Championships - Chia Hung Lu
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, China’s Chia Hung Lu won the BWF World Junior Badminton Championships at the Boys' singles event. Young shuttler Siril Verma managed for the silver medal.
With this feat, Verma joined the ranks of R.M.V. Gurusaidutt, Sameer Verma, Saina Nehwal, P.V. Sindhu and H.S. Prannoy to win medals for India in the World junior championships.
He is also the first Indian player to win the Badminton Asia Youth Championships in 2013.
About BWF World Junior Championships
It is also known as the World Junior Badminton Championships.
Badminton World Federation (BWF) organize this tournament to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) across the globe.
AMRUT Action Plans for - 81 cities
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 16th November 2015, State Annual Action Plans (SAAP) of 81 mission cities in 5 states- Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Odisha and Jharkhand under AMRUT for 2015-16 was approved by an inter-ministerial Apex Committee.
5748 crore rupees will be invested by the Union, State governments and urban local bodies together as per the SAAP. Apart from this, Central succour will be provided upto an extent of 2440 crore rupees.
Number of cities covered under AMRUT went up to 170 across 8 states with a total project expenditure of 8534 crore rupees with this approval.
Before, on 22nd October 2015, 89 cities in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh with a total investment of 2786 crore rupees were approved for the SAAPs.
Governing Council of NIIF constituted
On 13th November 2015, the Governing Council (GC) of the National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) was constituted by the Union Ministry of Finance.
It will be chaired by the Union Finance Minister. Other members are as follows :

- Secretary, Financial Services
About National Investment and Infrastructure Fund
- It was set up as a fund under the provisions of the Indian Trusts Act, 1882.
- Its purpose is to help restart the investment cycle and back new and stressed projects.
- Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in his Budget 2015-16 proposed this.
Who has won Fed Cup - Czech Republic
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, The Czech Republic won Fed Cup crown after defeating Russia in the finals.
- In five years, this is the fourth Fed Cup success for the Czech Republic.
- Overall the country has won the Fed Cup for nine times.

Marriott International to acquire - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide
On 16th November 2015, Marriott International announced the acquisition of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and became the world’s largest hotel company.
Within India also, the combined entity will displace the Tata Sons-promoted Taj Group of Hotels as the largest chain of hotels by rooms.
Features of Acquisition
- With this acquisition, the company will own more than 5500 hotels with 1.1 million rooms around the world.
- It was a all cash deal valued at 12.2 billion US dollars.
- It will give Marriott greater presence in markets such as Latin America, Europe and Asia including China and India.
Foundation stone of first Mega Food Park of Telangana laid
On 16th November 2015, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal laid the foundation stone of the first Mega Food Park at Village Lakkampally and Chimrajpally, Nandipet Mandal, District Nizamabad, Telangana promoted by Smart Agro Food Park Pvt. Ltd.
Besides this, two other Mega Food Parks have been approved to be set up in Mahboobnagar and Khammam districts.
Features of Mega Food Park
- Three Primary Processing Centres (PPCs) will be set up at Medchal, Medak and Nalgonda.
- It has a area of 78 acres.
- It will be set up with the project cost of 108.95 crore rupees.
- It will have facilities like : 20 MT/day Turmeric Processing Facility and modern food testing lab, 5000 MT Multi Commodity Cold Storage, 5000 MT Finished Good Warehouse, 5000 MT Grain Silos, 500 MT Deep Freeze, 5000 MT Raw Material Warehouse.
Draft Fiscal and Contractual Regime for Award of Hydrocarbon Acreages released
On 16th November 2015, Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas released a consultation paper on renewed fiscal and contractual regime for award of hydrocarbon acreages for comments from public.
The motive of this new policy is to improve the current exploration and production management.

Where did the 2015 G20 Summit held - Antalya, Turkey
Among the important International Current Affairs, From 15th to 16th November 2015, The 2015 G20 Summit was held at Regnum Carya Hotel Convention Centre in Antalya, Turkey.
Since the inception of G20 in 1999, under the Turkish leadership, it was the tenth summit and held.
The emphasis of the summit to develop strategies to ensure inclusive and robust growth through collective action and for this Turkey has proposed three I’s-Inclusiveness,Implementation and Investment for growth.
All the leaders of the G20 including Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the summit.
Turkey handed over the presidency of the Grouping to China for 2016.
