Dairy Processing & Infrastructure Development Fund Scheme launched by - Government
Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has initiated Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund Scheme with an outlay of Rupees 10881 crores. With this fund, 1st instalment of Rupees 440 crore was issued to National Dairy Development Board.
Dairy Processing & Infrastructure Development Fund Scheme- This scheme was sanctioned by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in September 2017 with an objective to improve dairy sector. It is accomplished by National Dairy Development Board and will be executed from 2017-18 to 2028-29.
- Milk unions, multistate milk cooperatives, State Dairy Federations, Milk producer organisations and National Dairy Development Board affiliates can gain loan under this plan after completing all eligibility standards.
- Under this plan, qualified milk companies will be provided financial support as a loan at 6.5 percent interest for the construction of a well-organized milk procurement system and other dairy processing organization.
- This loan will be repaid over time period of ten years. It also has facility of interest subsidy on loans.
- The loan profits will be provided for putting in-place well-organized milk procurement system by forming chilling infrastructure and installation of electronic milk adulteration testing paraphernalia.
- It will be also utilised for formation, modernisation and growth of processing infrastructure and manufacturing abilities for value-added dairy produces.
- The plan will profit 95,00,000 farmers in approximately 50,000 villages. Additionally, it will provide direct and indirect job opportunities to many skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers.
- It will also assist in forming extra milk processing capacity of 126 lakh litre every day, milk drying capacity of 210 MT every day, milk chilling capacity of 140 lakh litre every day.
First Tribal Circuit Project under Swadesh Darshan Scheme inaugurated in - Chhattisgarh
Union Ministry of Tourism has initiated India’s first tribal circuit project linking thirteen tourism sites in Chhattisgarh under Swadesh Darshan Scheme. The circuit connects Jashpur, Kunkuri, Mainpat, Kamleshpur, Maheshpur, Kurdar, Sarodadadar, Gangrel, Kondagaon, Nathiya Nawagaon, Jagdalpur, Chitrakoot, and Tirthgarh in Chhattisgarh.
Tribal circuit project- Chief components authorized under tribal circuit scheme in Chhattisgarh comprises developing eco log huts, craft hats, souvenir shops, open amphitheatre, tribal interpretation centres, workshop centres, tourist facilities centres, viewpoints, nature trails, solar illuminations and many more.
- These mechanisms will advance the present tourist amenities, enhance the overall tourist experience and benefit in getting additional visitors which in return will increase job chances in the area.

- Under tribal circuit theme of Swadesh Darshan Scheme, Tourism Ministry has endorsed 4 projects to Nagaland, Telangana and Chhattisgarh for Rupees 381.37 crores.
Chhattisgarh was measured for the 1st tribal circuit theme for recognizing sovereignty of tribes and to
promote rich and diverse primitive possessions in the state. Tribes forms more than one-third of state

The International Day of Democracy was celebrated worldwide on September 15th, 2018. The day delivers an opportunity to review the state of democracy in the world. The theme of the 2018 International Day of Democracy is ‘Democracy under Strain: Solutions for a Changing World’.
Present year’s theme seeks for ways to revive democracy and looks answers to the systemic challenges it faces including tackling economic and political disparities, making democracies much inclusive by carrying the young and marginalised into the political system and responsive to evolving challenges including migration and climate change.
