Who has won Women's Singles title at China Open Superseries - Xuerui Li
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, the 700000 US dollar Women's Singles final of China Open Superseries Premier Badminton tournament was won by Chinese shuttler Xuerui Li. She defeated India’s ace shuttler Saina Nehwal in the final clash.
After the Denmark Open Superseries Premier in October 2015, it was Li’s 2nd championship title of the year.
Name the Children's book writer who passed away - Kamala Laxman
On 14th November 2015, A well-known author of children's books, Kamala Laxman, passed away in Pune at the age of 90.
In 1970s, she was commissioned by the India Book House to write stories for children. She had written books like tales of Tenali Raman and Thama and His Missing Mother.
Which two countries completed formalities for Civil Nuclear Pact - India and Australia
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, the procedures for bringing India and Australia nuclear deal into force was completed at the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull.
With this, India has become the first country to buy Australian uranium without being a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
Australia is a key member in the Nuclear Suppliers Group where India is making efforts to gain entry. Australia has the world’s highest Uranium reserves.
Brazilian Grand Prix won by - Nico Rosberg
Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, German Formula One motor racer Nico Rosberg won the Brazilian Grand Prix trophy after defeating Lewis Hamilton.
The third position in the race was acquired by Sebastian Vettel. With the win, Rosberg made his place as runner-up in 2015 Formula One world championship.

First AMRIT outlet opened at - AIIMS Delhi
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 15th November 2015, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) pharmacy outlet at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi.
The motive of this outlet is to reduce the expenditure sustained by patients on treatment of heart diseases and cancer by 50 to 60 %. It has following features :
- 202 cancer, 186 cardio-vascular drugs and 148 types of cardiac implants will be sold by the outlets at very resonable prices.
- It will sell drugs and implants for the two ailments-cancer and heart diseases-at marked-down prices.
Who has been declared as terrorist organization under UAPA, 1967 - NSCN-K
On 15th November 2015, The Union Government declared militant outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland-Khaplang (NSCN-K) as a terrorist organisation under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), 1967.
The declaration was made after the outfit killed innocent civilians and security forces and engaged in other violent activities. On 4th June 2015, they attacked on the Army convoy in Chandel district of Manipur.
On 15th September 2015, NSCN-K was banned for five years under the same Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
About National Socialist Council of Nagaland
- Isak Chishi Swu, SS Khaplang and Thuingaleng Muivah founded it opposing the Shillong Accord of 1975.
- It was established in 1980 to establish a sovereign state of Nagalim by merging all the areas inhabited by the Naga people in Myanmar and Northeast India.
- In 1988, it was divided into two groups : NSCN-IM jointly led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah and NSCN-K led by SS Khaplang.
International Day for Tolerance observed on - 16th November
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 16th November 2015, The International Day for Tolerance was observed worldwide with a motive to educate people about the need for tolerance in society and help them understand the negative effects of intolerance.
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) initiated this day in 1996 by its resolution 51/95. UNGA invited UN Member States to observe the International Day for Tolerance on 16th November.
Which Advanced Torpedo Defence System is handed over to Indian Navy - Maareech
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 14th November 2015, The Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar handed over the Maareech - Advanced Torpedo Defence System – developed by DRDO to the Navy Chief Admiral Robin K. Dhowan in Vishakhapatnam.
Highlights of Maareech
- It is a joint project of NSTL, Visakhapatnam and Naval Physical and Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL), Kochi.
- Maareech can detect and locate the incoming torpedo and take countermeasures to protect naval platform against the attack.
- It has the ability to confuse, divert and decoy the incoming torpedoes.
Which government has introduced Mobile Governance - Jharkhand government
On 15th November 2015, during the occasion of 16th Foundation Day of the state, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Raghubar Das introduced Mobile Governance in the state to realise the dreams of Digital India.
14 mobile applications and 3 web portals were launched on the State Foundation Day to promote the benefits of IT to the people of the state.
Advantage Jharkhand Portal, the country's first single window portal was launched to facilitate quick clearance for industries.
Jharkhand Space Applications Centre (JSAC) had developed the mobile applications to bring services from government, civic bodies and police force to the Android smartphones.
Which Indian Veteran actor has passed way - Saeed Jaffrey
On 15th November 2015, Veteran Bollywood actor Saeed Jaffrey passed away at the age of 86.
He has worked in a number of Indian and British movies like : My Beautiful Laundrette, Gandhi, A Passage to India, Chashme Buddoor, Ram Teri Ganga Maili etc.
He also appeared regularly on the British soap operas, including Gangsters, The Jewel in the Crown, Common as Muck and Coronation Street.
Jaffrey was the first Indian actor to tour Shakespeare, taking his company across the United States.
He had became the first Indian to receive the Order of the British Empire (OBE) and was awarded with Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for Shatranj Ke Khiladi in 1978.
Online auto classifieds portal CarTrade acquired - CarWale
On 13th November 2015, Online auto classifieds firm CarTrade.com acquired car-selling portal CarWale.com.
With this, German media giant Axel Springer exited CarWale by selling its entire shareholding to CarTrade.
After the deal, the CarTrade, has decided to enter into the new cars segment.
If combined, the CarTrade and the CarWale get over 32 million visits per month and work with about 9000 new and used car dealer partners who connect car manufacturers with buyers.

In November 2015, PRASAD and SWADSH DARSHAN schemes of the Union Ministry of Tourism were launched to achieve 1 % share of international tourist arrivals by 2016-17 from the present 0.68 %.
Both the schemes are aimed at developing world-class tourism related infrastructure.
Features of Swadsh Darshan
- Theme based tourism circuits are identified for infrastructure development across the nation.
- A Theme Based Tourist Circuit (TBTC) could be confined to a state or could be a regional circuit covering more than a state or union territory (UT).
Features of PRASAD
- Its motive is to expand religious and spiritual tourism in the country.
- As per the mission strategy, religious destinations that are recognised as world-class tourism products are identified and infrastructure is developed on a priority basis.
Who has been appointed as next Permanent Representative of India to UN - Syed Akbaruddin
Among the important appointments, On 16th November 2015, Syed Akbaruddin was appointed as the next Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations. He succeeded Asoke Kumar Mukerji.
He is a 1985 batch officer of Indian Foreign Service. At present, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs.
Earlier to this, he had also served as MEA spokesperson. He was the Chief Coordinator of successful India Africa Foreign Summit held this year in October.
