When did the World Blood Donors Day observed - 14th June
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 14th June 2015, World Blood Donors Day (WBDD) was observed with theme "Thank you for saving my life”.
The theme for the day focuses on thanking blood donors who save lives every day through their blood donation and encourages more people across the earth to donate blood voluntarily and regularly with the slogan “Give freely, give often. Blood donation matters.”
The aimm of the campaign is to highlight stories from people whose lives have been saved through blood donation, as a way of motivating regular blood donors to continue giving blood and people in good health who have never given blood to begin doing so.
From where did the World famous Buddhas of Bamiyan restored - Afghanistan
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 7th June 2015, The Buddhas of Bamiyan were restored in Bamiyan Valley, Afghanistan with the help of 3D light projection technology.
A Chinese couple Janson Yu and Liyan Hu undertook the project and used 3D laser light projection technology to fill the empty cavities in the cliff in the Bamiyan Valley in Hazarajat with Buddha's virtual images.
The two statues of Standing Buddhas, 174 ft and 115 ft tall, were carved out of sandstone cliffs which mannaged to survive for more than 1500 years.
Who has acquired Paris-based T&K Machine Inc - Aequs Pvt Ltd
On 14th June 2015, Aequs Pvt Ltd, a Karnataka-based aerospace component manufacturer, acquired Paris-based aerospace component maker T&K Machine Inc.
The acquisition of T&K Machine Inc will help Aequs to expand its mark in North American. Aequs will now provide its global aerospace machining platform of over one million hours to Boeing and its tier-1 suppliers across the world.
About T&K Machine Inc
- It was founded by Tom and Frances Westbrooks in 1968. In the 1970’s, the company began production of major programs with Vought, Boeing, and Bell Helicopter.
- Machined parts and assemblies are supplied by it to the aerospace industry since 1968.
About Aequs Pvt Ltd
- It was founded as an engineering services firm called QuEST Global Manufacturing based out of the US in 1997.
- In 2006, it started manufacturing aerospace and defence components. It has a presence in the landing-gear segments of aerospace manufacturing, and supplies, aero systems and aero structures to all major aerospace and aviation companies.
India Nuclear Insurance Pool (INIP) has been launched by - Department of Atomic Energy (DAE)
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 12th June 2015, The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) launched the India Nuclear Insurance Pool (INIP).
The INIP has become the 27th such insurance pool in the world as countries such as South Africa, U.S., Russia and France have put such similar risk transfer mechanisms in place.
Features of India Nuclear Insurance Pool (INIP)
- Risks of hindrance of nuclear operators and suppliers will be covered under Section 6(2) and Section 17 of the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damages (CLND) Act, 2010.
- Three policied will be provided by it : tier 1 policy for operators, tier 2 policy for turn key suppliers and tier 3 policy for suppliers.
- Premiums will be priced on factors such as risk probability, possible severity of damage and exposure to people and property around nuclear installations.
- General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC Re), the sole reinsurance company in the Indian insurance market will administer it.
Decision to run Suvidha Trains was made by - Railway Ministry
On 12th June 2015, Ministry of Railways decided to run Suvidha trains with dynamic fares. To address the rush during peak travel seasons,the decision to run Suvidha trains was taken.
These trains may be run during climax seasons like Holi rush, summer rush, Dussehra rush, winter rush and on other occasions.
Some facts about Suvidha Trains
- There will be no waiting list, only confirmed and RAC tickets will be issued and also no discount will be available on these trains.
- The minimum advance reservation period will be of 10 days while the maximum advance reservation period will be 30 days.
- Full adult fare will be charged for all passengers irrespective of their age.
- There shall be no 2nd sitting coach or Executive class or general class or First AC or Fist Class in the train composition.
After how many months Comet lander Philae woke up after hibernation - Seven months
Among the important International Current Affairs, In Second week of June 2015, Rosetta's lander Philae woke up on the surface of Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko after seven months in hibernation. It is the first spacecraft to land on a comet in the space history.
On 13th June 2015, the signals were received at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany from the spacecraft.
About Philae
- Its motive is to understand the elemental, isotopic, molecular and mineralogical composition of the cometary material.
- On 12 November 2014, it was landed on the surface of Comet 67P/ Churyumov–Gerasimenko.
- The landing site is located on the head of the bizarre double-lobed object and has been named as Agilkia.
- On 2nd March 2004, the 1 billion pound (1.58 billion US dollars) Rosetta was launched from Kourou spaceport in French Guiana.
- It travelled 6.4 billion kilometers through the Solar System before reaching the Comet 67P.

The employers and job seekers can now register at www.eex.dcmsme.gov.in and already two lakh job seekers have already registered themselves.
