    Maritime India Summit 2016 was inaugurated by - PM Narendra Modi

    Among Important Summits, On 14th April 2016, Maritime India Summit 2016 (MIS 2016) was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi in Mumbai with an aim to invite investors to India and this is a initiative of Ministry of Shipping, Government of India.
    It will provide a platform for investors to invest in Indian Martime Sector.
    This is a two day summit.

    Who was appointed as new President of IGNCA Trust - Ram Bahadur Rai

    Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) Trust was in news as it was reconstituted by Govt of India on 14th April 2016. Senior Journalist Ram Bahadur Rai was selected as President of IGNCA with an 20 member body which includes Veteran dancer Sonal Mansingh, film maker Chandraprakash Dwivedi and lyricist Prasoon Joshi etc.

    Who was appointed as chairperson of National Monument Authority - Susmita Pande

    Among Important Appointments, On 14th April 2016, Susmita Pande was appointed as new chairperson of the National Monument Authority (NMA) by Union Govt. Susmita Pande is a professor at Ujjain's Vikram University.
    She would be succeeding Himanshu Prabha Ray.

    National Agriculture Market portal eNAM was launched by - PM Narendra Modi

    National Agriculture Market portal eNAM was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim to connect e-mandis in several States which is considered to be a major reform to enable farmers to get better price of their crops as it will provide a pan India trading platform. With the help of this portal farmers can showcase their produce online from their nearest market and traders can quote price from anywhere.

    • There are 25 commodities have been identified for online trading which includes onion, potato, coarse garins, pulses, wheat, apple, cotton etc.
    • By 2018 total 585 regualted markets will be integrated with this portal as so far 365 mandis have been integrated.

    India signed MoU with which country for cooperation and mutual assistance in development of Ports - South Korea

    India inked MoU with South Korea for cooperation and mutual assistance in development of ports. Union Road, Transport and Highways and Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari and South Korea Oceans and Fisheries Minister Kim Young Suk signed with MoU in Mumbai with an aim to boost maritime relationship between both countries which will facilitate the development of ports and other industry which is related to ports by sharing of technology, experiences in the fields of port operation and development.
