Former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi removed as President of RCA
Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 11th October 2014, former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi was removed as President of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) after a no confidence motion against him. No confidence motion against him was passed in Jaipur in which 23 districts voted against Lalit Modi, total number of districts were 33.
Elected President Amin Pathan will be serving as acting President.
Kishore Kumar Award for 2012-13 bagged by Lyricist Sameer
On 13th October 2014, Well known lyricist Sameer was awarded with National Kishore Kumar Award for 2012-13 at a function in Madya Pradesh.
National Kishore Kumar Award is a yearly award presented by Madhya Pradesh government which carries a cash prize of 2 lakh rupees, citation, shawl and shreefal. It is presented to a person for his contribution in direction, screenplay and lyrics.
Lok Sabha MP Kapil Krishna Thakur passed away
On 13th October 2014, Lok Sabha MP Kapil Krishna Thakur passed away in Kolkata following a lung failure. He was 73 years old.
He was a prominent leader of Matua community. Being a candidate of All India Trinamool Congress he won election in 2014 and became a MP in the 16th Lok Sabha from Bangaon Lok Sabha constituency in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
Dutch Open Grand Prix badminton tournament title clinched by Ajay Jayaram
Among the Important Sports Current Affairs, On 12th October 2014, Indian shuttler Ajay Jayaram notched up the biggest triumph of his career by winning Dutch Open Grand Prix badminton tournament title. This title carries a prize money of USD 50,000.
Bangalore-based player who is 27 year old defeated Ihsan Maulana Mustofa of Indonesia in the finals by 10-11 11-6 11-7 1-11 11-9. It was his first Grand Prix title.
If we talk about the overseas performance of Ajay then he has already won New Zealand Open (2009), Thailand Open (2010) and Czech Open (2013).

Yemen appointed Khalid Bahah as new prime minister
Among the International Current Affairs, On 13th October 2014, Khaled Bahah was appointed as new Prime Minister of Yemen by President President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Earlier he was serving as permanent representative of the Republic of Yemen to the United Nations. This appointment is aimed to bring an end to political unrest of Yemen.
India Ranked at 55th Position in Global Hunger Index Report 2014
Among the Important National Current Affairs, On 13th October 2014, Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2014 was released by International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide.
India was ranked at 55th position while Pakistan and Bangladesh were ranked at 57th Position.
