Tata Power signed agreement to acquire - Welspun Renewables

Among Important Business Current Affairs, On 12th June 2016 Tata Power Co. Ltd inked agreement to acquire Welspun Renewables Energy Pvt. Ltd.
Welspun Renewables Energy Pvt. Ltd is a renewable energy company and by buying this company Tata Power will be increasing its clean energy portfolio to 2.3 gigawatts (GW).
This is deal is expected to be around 9250 crore rupees.

Who was appointed as Chief Justice of Manipur HC - Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad

Among Important Appointments, On 13th June 2016, Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad was appointed as Chief Justice of Manipur HC, he succeeded Justice Laxmi Kanta Mohapatra.
He was transfered from Jharkhand High Court to Manipur High Court in february this year by President of India.
Important to mention here that, President of India a judge from one high court to other high court after consultation with Chief Justice of India using Clause (1) of Article 222.
