First multination naval excercise held at Andaman, its name is - MILES-18
First ever multi-nation naval three days exercise was held at Andaman sea. It was named as MILES-18. It was a part of MILAN 2018.
It was organised by Andaman Nicobar naval command and theme was "Friendship Across the Seas". There were total nine countries taking part in this excerise including India. There were Australia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
MILAN exercise was first held in 1995, then only five countries had participated.First costal policiing academy set up at - Gujarat
First national coastal policing academy has been set up in Gujarat. It will start functioning from April 2018. It will train police forces and other security agencies to effectively safeguard shoreline.
Bureau of Police Research and Development will be responsible for running the academy. Though BSF, Navy and Indian Coast Guard will be involved for its functioning.Union Government formed Tribunal to solve - Mahanadi Water Dispute
On 12th March 2018, Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal was consituted by Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. It was formed with an aim to solve water dispute between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.
Chairman of this tribunal will be Justice AM Khanwilkar ( Judge of Supreme Court of India ). Justice Ravi Ranjan ( Judge of the Patna High Court ) and Justice Indermeet Kaur Kochhar ( Judge of the Delhi High Court ) are the members of this tribunal.
These members were nominated by Chief Justice of India.
Tuberculosis Free India Campaign launched by - Union Government
On 13th March 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a campaign of tuberculosis (TB) free India. Aim is set of 2025.
There will be funding of 12000 crore rupees over next three years for same. Global target to make world TB free is 2030, but in India it is 2025. WHO already have declared Tuberculosis as an emergency many years ago as more than 10 million people get affected by it each year.
