    Who is appointed as Chair of Board of Directors of GAIN - Vinita Bali

    Among the important appointments, On 4th June 2015, Vinita Bali was appointed as the Chair of Board of Directors of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). Vinita replaced Jay Naidoo, who led GAIN in the global fight against malnutrition since its creation in 2002.

    Since 2010, Vinita has been on the board of GAIN and has led large companies in a variety of marketing and general management roles in the India, UK, Nigeria, South Africa, Chile and the US.

    She is the Vice Chair of CARE India and also serves on the Advisory Board of The Division of Nutritional Science at University of Cornell. She was appointed by the UN Secretary General to stand on the Lead Group of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement among the 27 global leaders.

    She is on the Advisory Board of The World Gold Council and also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of several companies in India including CRISIL Ltd, Titan Industries Ltd, and Kasturi & Sons Ltd.

    Who has resigned as CEO of Twitter Inc - Dick Costolo

    Among the important International Current Affairs, On 11th June 2015, Dick Costolo resigned as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Twitter Inc.

    Square Inc's CEO and Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey will take over as the Interim CEO of the company and will stay until a replacement is found.

    In 2009, as a Chief Operating Officer, Costolo joined the company. Recently he struggled to attract new users to the service.

    Under the leadership of Costolo, Twitter progressed with a market value of some 25 billion US dollars and became a a public company from a startup.

    Which policy has been unveiled by Telangana Government - Telangana Industrial Policy 2015

    Among the important National Current Affairs, On 12th June 2015, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao unveiled the Telangana Industrial Policy 2015. The policy is deliberated to boost employment opportunities and industrial activity in the state.

    Main features of Telangana Industrial Policy 2015

    • Industrialists are granted with Right to timely clearances from the state government in order to set up industries.
    • Clearances for mega projects will be given in 2 weeks.
    • A single window clearance system will be established.
    • Entrepreneurs need to fill only a single common online application form.
    • Industries categorized as Green (non- hazardous) will be accorded approval within 15 days, Orange (less hazardous) within 21 days and Red (more hazardous) within 30 days.
    • Fifteen sectors were identified as focus areas including IT & Hardware, Gems and Jewellery, Automobiles and Life Sciences.
    • All the industries will be given power supply round the clock.
    • A Chasing cell will be set up in the Chief Ministers Office (CMO).
    • To supervise matters related to industrial approval and establishment under the policy, a nodal officer will be appointed.

    Final guidelines for 6-year and 13-year Interest Rate Futures are issued by - RBI

    Among the important National Current Affairs, On 12th June 2015, The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued the final guidelines for the 6-year and 13-year cash settled Interest Rate Futures (IRF) on government securities with residual maturity of 4-8 years and 11-15 years respectively under the Interest Rate Futures (Reserve Bank) (Amendment) Directions, 2015.

    RBI has made amendments in the Interest Rate Futures (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2013 dated 5 December 2013 for this purpose.

    6-year cash settled IRF contracts : the underlying shall be a coupon bearing government security of face value of 100 rupees and the residual maturity of 6-year IRF is between 4 and 8 years on the expiry of futures contract.

    13-year cash settled IRF contracts : the underlying can be a coupon bearing government security of face value of 100 rupees and residual maturity will be between 11 and 15 years on the expiry of futures contract.

    Who has been inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of fame - Sir Wesley Winfield Hall

    Among the important Sports Current Affairs, On 12th June 2015, Veteran West Indies fast bowler Sir Wesley Winfield Hall was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame. After this, he has became the 18th cricketer from West Indies and 80th cricketer to be inducted in the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

    In his one decade career spanning from 1958 to 1969, Sir Wesley Hall had played a total of 48 Tests. A total of 192 wickets has been taken by him in his Test career which include five wickets in an innings for 9 times and 10 wickets in a match on one occasion.

    In 170 first-class matches, at an average of 26.14, Hall claimed 546 wickets. Hall took retirement at the end of the tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1968-69.
