Which company in India became first to implement 85% pictorial health warnings - Golden Tobacco Ltd

One of the oldest cigarette manufacture company Golden Tobacco Ltd. became the first company in India to implement the Union Health Ministry’s Cigarettes Packaging Amendment Rules, 2014. 

Golden Tobacco Company have started carrying 85% pictorial health warnings on both sides of it tobacco packets bearing April 2016 as the manufacture date.

Do You Know - 

From April 2016, the packets of several brands of the company such as Panama and Golden Gold Flake will carry larger images.

The main aim behind this larger pictorial warning rule is to “create awareness about the serious and adverse health consequences of tobacco usage”. 

Who approved India to sign MoU with UAE to prevent and combat of Human Trafficking - Union Cabinet

On 13 April 2016, Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) on cooperation in preventing and combating of Human Trafficking.

The MoU is all set to strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two countries and increase the bilateral cooperation on the issues of prevention, rescue, recovery and repatriation related to human trafficking especially women and children expeditiously.

Which poet is selected for Saraswati Samman 2015 - Padma Sachdev

On 12 April 2016, Padma Sachdev who is an author and poet was selected for the prestigious Saraswati Samman for 2015 for her autobiography titled Chitt-Chete, written in Dogri language.

In 2007, the book was published. links the personal trials and tribulations of the author with issues concerning society, nation and the world at large.

Know About Padma Sachdev – 

•An Indian poet and novelist Padma Sachdev is first modern woman poet of Dogri language. Along with dogri language, she also writes in Hindi. 

•Padma Sachdev has published her several poetry collection including Meri Kavita Mere Geet, which won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1971.

•Padma Sachdev also received the Padma Shri, the Indian fourth highest civilian award in 2001. 

Who won Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for March - Shiv Chawrasia

On 12 April 2016, Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia was honoured as the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for March 2016 in Sentosa, Singapore.

Chawrasia showed excellent performance in March 2016, in his National Open to win his third Asian Tour title by defeating 2015 Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Year Anirban Lahiri and Korean rising star Jeunghun Wang by two shots.

Know About Shiv Chawrasia – 

•Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia who is also known as Chipputtsia and Chow, is an Indian professional golfer. 

•Chawrasia turned professional in 1997. He went on to win eight titles on the Indian Tour and finished second twice in the Indian Open.

•In February 2008, he won the inaugural Indian Masters and in 2011 Chawrasia won his second European Tour event Avantha Masters in New Delhi.

Which bank gave in-principle approval to Airtel payments bank – RBI

A subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, AMSL was granted the first payments bank license from Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

AMSL (Airtel M Commerce Services) offers mobile money services under the brand name Airtel Money. as per RBI notification, The Payments Bank will be set up as a differentiated bank and shall confine its activities to acceptance of demand deposits, remittance services, internet banking and other specified services.

Know About RBI –

•In the Development Strategy of the Government of India, RBI plays an important role. It is also a member bank of the Asian Clearing Union. 

•The general superintendence and direction of the RBI have 21-member Central Board of Directors: the Governor, 4 Deputy Governors, 2 Finance Ministry representatives, 10 government-nominated directors to represent important elements from India's economy, and 4 directors to represent local boards headquartered at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and New Delhi. 

•All these local boards consists of 5 members who represent regional interests, and the interests of co-operative and indigenous banks. 

Haryana government renames Gurgaon as - Gurugram 

On 12 2016, Haryana Government decided rename Gurgaon as Gurugram and Mewat as Nuh.

This rename proposal was approved by Haryan Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. 

As Khattar has given in-principle approval for the changes, the decision will now be placed before the Haryana cabinet before it is sent to the union government.
