Warren Harris promoted as MD and CEO by Tata Technologies Ltd
On 9th September 2014, Tata Technologies Ltd promoted Warren Harris as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of the company. He succeeded Patrick McGoldrick who got retired.
Being a part of company since 26 years Warren Harris was president and chief operating officer of Tata Technologies since 2005.
UK mobile technology start-up Movirtu acquired by BlackBerry
On 11th September 2014, BlackBerry acquired a U.K-based mobile technology start-up Movirtu. Movirtu's software allows its users to have multiple phone numbers on the same device.
This deal is supposed to help BlackBerry to give more features and to cater needs of a particular segment.
Tax free budget for 2014-15 financial year presented by Puducherry CM
On 11th September 2014, Puducherry Chief Minister N.Rangasamy presented a tax free budget for the financial year of 2014-2015. Total budget is of 6100 crore rupees which includes plan outlay of 2400 crore rupees and non-plan outlay of 3700 crore rupees.
HMT Watches will soon become hostory as Union government decided to wind it up
On 11th September 2014, Union government decided to wind up HMT Watches. This will happen in a phased manner. HMT watches is a HMT Limited's wholly owned subsidiary.

On 11th September 2014, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh inaugurated the integration of Border Security Force (BSF) with Bhaskaracharya Institute for Space Applications and Geo Informatics (BISAG).
BISAG a State level nodal agency of Gujarat to facilitate the use of spatial and geo-spatial technologies for planning and developmental activities to agriculture, land and water resource management, wasteland/watershed development, forestry, disaster management, infrastructure and education
SEBI censured BSE for OFS lapses in share sale of NMDC
On 11th September 2014, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) censured Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) for its conduct in share sale of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC). This sale was worth 6000 crore rupees through Offer for Sale (OFS). SEBI found BSE guilty of lapses while conducting share sale.
50 MW solar park in Andhra Pradesh will be constructed by Raya Power
On 11th September 2014, Rays Power Experts announced built a 50 mw Solar Power Generation Park in Andhra Pradesh with a cost of 300 crore rupees. It is expected to be completed by January 2015.

Union Government launched New Payment Gateway Integrated to e-Filing System
On 8th September 2014, a New Payment Gateway Integrated to e-Filing System of the Intellectual Property Office of India (IPOI) was launched by Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
By this it is expected to lead increase in online filing of forms for patent and trademarks by 25 to 75 percent.
