Migratory birds found dead at Sultanpur National Park
Sultanpur National Park was in news as 47 migratory birds were found dead in the park on 10th January 2015. On 11th January 2015 Sultanpur National Park was shut down for one week by forest and wild life department.
36 Eurasian coots, 9 Common moorhen, spot-billed duck and jungle babbler were found dead in the park though real cause was not known as of now. National Institute of High Security Animal Diseases has took the samples of the dead birds to detect the cause of death of birds.
On 12th January National Youth Day observed across India
On 12th January 2015 National Youth Day was observed across India. National Youth Day is observed annually to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda was a great social reformer, philosopher and thinker. This year it was 152nd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
All teachings of Swami Vivekananda can be found in The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda, in nine volumes, published by Advaita Ashrama, Kolkata. His speech at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Chicago in 1893 in which he introduced Hinduism is very famous.

US to host International Anti-terror Summit on 18 February 2015
On 11th January 2015, It was announced by US that it will be hosting an international Anti-terror Summit in Washington. This summit is scheduled to be held on 18th February 2015 with an aim of preventing violent extremism that was seen in attack on Charlie Hebdo's Paris office.
This will be highlighting best practices and emerging efforts from several US communities carrying out pilot programs to address extremism.
SDSC-SHAR director MYS Prasad selected for Vikram Sarabhai Memorial Award 2015
On 10th January 2015, Director of SDSC (Satish Dhawan Space Centre), SHAR (Sriharikota Range) MYS Prasad was selected for the Vikram Sarabhai memorial award 2015 which will be presetned to him by Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA).
He will be honoured with this award for this outstanding contribution to Research and Development in the field of space science in his long career at the Indian Space Research Organisation.
Tech Mahindra to acquire Swiss firm SOFGEN Holdings Limited
Among the important industry current affairs, On 10th January 2015 Tech Mahindra inked definitive agreement to acquire the Swiss firm SOFGEN Holdings Limited. This deal will be boosting the financial services offering by Tech Mahindra and expected to reach the top line target of 5 billion US dollar by 2015.
Earlier in November 2014 Tech Mahindra announced the acquisition of Lightbridge Communications for 240 million US dollar and In January 2015 it formed a joint venture with Avion Systems.
Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha named as 21st Chief Justice of Bangladesh
Among the International Current Affairs, On 12th January 2015 Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha was appointed as Chief justice of Bangladesh. He is 21st chief justice of Bangladesh. President of Bangladesh Abdul Hamid confirmed his appointment as per Article 95(1) of the Bangladesh Constitution.
He will be succeeding Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain who is set to retire on 16 January 2015. On 17th January 2015 he will be swearing in at Bangabhaban presidential palace, Bangladesh.
