Next Chief Justice of India will be Justice R.M.Lodha
On 11th April 2014, President of India Honorable Mr. Pranab Mukherjee appointed Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha as Next Chief Justice of India. Justice R M Lodha will be 41st Chief Justice of India. He will be taking this charge from 27th April 2014.
Justice R M Lodha is scheduled to retire on 27 September 2014.
About Justice R M Lodha :
Justice R M Lodha practiced Law in the Rajasthan High Court. He was elevated as a Permanent Judge of the Rajasthan High Court in January 1994. He was transferred to the Bombay High Court where he assumed office in February 1994. Justice Lodha was transferred back to the Rajasthan High Court in February 2007. He had been the Administrative Judge of the Rajasthan High Court and was chairman of State Judicial Academy.
On 13th May 2008 he was sworn in as Chief Justice of the Patna High Court and then on 17th December he bacame a Judge of the Supreme Court.

Ratan Tata received Knight Grand Cross award by UK Government which is one of Britain's highest awards
Former chairman of the Tata Group Mr. Ratan Tata was honoured with Knight Grand Cross (GBE) award by UK Government on 10th April 2014. Knight Grand Cross is one of the highest civilian honour of Britain. The award was given by Queen Elizabeth II. Ratan Tata was honoured for his services to UK-India relations, inward investment to the UK and philanthropy.
Tata is one of five foreign nationals to be honoured by Queen Elizabeth during 2014.
Tata group employ's many people in the UK, making it one of the largest employers in the country.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2013 goes to Legendary Poet Gulzar
On 12th April 2014 The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced that legendary poet and film lyricist Gulzar was selected for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2013. Thus he became the 45th winner of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.
The award is conferred by the government for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. He has given great contribution to the Indian Cinema.
He won the Academy Award for best original song for "Jai ho" with Rahman at 2009 Oscars.
He was confered with Sahitya Akademi Award in 2002.
He was confered with Padma Bhushan in 2004 and many more awards.
Dadasaheb Phalke Award
Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in cinema given annually by the Government of India. The award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a cash prize of INR 1 million and a shawl.
