    Who was elected as new PM of Nepal - KP Sharma Oli

    Among Important International Current Affairs, On 11th October 2015, K P Sharma Oli was elected as new Prime Minister of Nepal. He defeated incumbent Prime Minister Sushil Koirala.

    Parliament Speaker Subhash Nembang declared Oli elected as Prime Minister as he secured 338 votes against 249 by Koirala.

    K P Sharma Oli has spent 14 years in prison and then joined more moderate communist party. He was elected to parliament first in year 1991 when the country adopted multi-party democracy.

    After he was elected Indian PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "Spoke to Shri KP Oli. Congratulated him & invited him to visit India. We value ties with Nepal & want to strengthen them even further".

    Natesan Ramani died, he was a - Renowned Carnatic Flautist

    On 9th Ocotber 2015, Renowned Carnatic flautist Natesan Ramani passed away because of cancer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was 82 years old. 

    He was known for introducing the long flute in Carnatic music and had developed his own inimitable style in the field of flute music especially on Venu flute. He first learnt the music from his maternal grandfather Sri Aazhiyur Narayanaswami Iyer who was a well-known flute artist and singer. 

    Union Cabinet approved Framework for Cooperation in Blue Economy between - India and Seychelles

    On 7th October 2015, Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave its ex-post facto approval to the protocol for cooperation in the field of blue economy which was signed between India and Seychelles during the visit of the President of Seychelles to India on August 26, 2015.

    The protocol lays down the modalities and mechanism of cooperation between the two parties for ocean studies as well as scientific exploration and exploitation of sea based resources, for sustainable development and economic purposes. 

    President Sepp Blatter, VP Michel Platini and Secretary General Jerome Valcke were suspended from - FIFA

    Among Sports Current Affairs, On 8th October 2015, FIFA President Sepp Blatter, VP Michel Platini and Secretary General Jerome Valcke were suspended from FIFA Body. They were suspended amid a corruption investigation by the Swiss authorities. 

    India signed 6 MoU's with - Jordan

    Among National Current Affairs, On 11th October 2015, Jordan and India inked six agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) in various fields of cooperation.

    The agreements were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and Indian President Pranab Mukherjee, covering cooperation in the maritime transportation sector and a memorandum between the Jordan Institute of Diplomacy and the Indian Foreign Service Institute.

    Jordan News Agency, Petra, and the Press Trust of India also inked a MoU, in addition to signing the executive programme for cultural exchange between the Jordanian and Indian governments.

    Also, an MoU was signed between the ICT Ministry and its Indian counterpart to cooperate in ICT and electronics fields, and another between the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organisation and its Indian peer to cooperate in assessment techniques. 

    India has extended a line of credit of $100 million to the Kingdom for promoting trade and economic cooperation.
