C Lalsawta sworn in as Mizoram’s first Lokayukta chairman on - 11th March 2019

Retired Indian Administrative Services officer C Lalsawta took oath as the 1st Chairman of the freshly
established Lokayukta in Mizoram, on March 11th, 2019. He was directed the oath of office & secrecy by the freshly designated Mizoram governor Jagdish Mukhi in an oath ceremony organised at Raj Bhavan in Aizawl.

• Lalsawta is a 1981 batch Bihar cadre Indian Administrative Services officer who has been in the
  government services for above 40 years.
• Prior he joined the Indian Administrative Services in 1981, he worked as a member of the Indian Audit & Accounts Services for almost 2 years.
• Afterwards returning to Bihar, he was promoted the vigilance commissioner of the state. He retired in 2015.
• Lalsawta supervised over Appellate Courts & Revision Courts in Revenue & Criminal cases & also had to agree disciplinary cases in Departmental Proceedings.
• He also served as Chairman of various statutory bodies & as Vice Chancellor of two Universities.
• He was also freshly selected as the Administrative member of the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal by the state government of Bihar.
