Name the World’s first dengue vaccine approved for use in Mexico - Dengvaxia
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 9th December 2015, the use of the first-ever vaccine name Dengvaxia against dengue fever was approved by the Mexican authorities.
Key facts related to Dengvaxia vaccine
- Mexico was the first to approve Dengvaxia vaccine among the 20 countries across Asia and Latin America on the request of Sanofi.
- After the assesment from an extensive clinical development program involving over 40000 people of different ages, geographic and ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds living in 15 countries The Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (COFEPRIS) gave the approval for Dengvaxia.
- As per the reports of WHO published in 2014, about 60.8 % effectiveness was marked in safeguarding against the dengue.
Who has approved Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 2015 - Supreme Court
Among the important National Current Affairs, On 10th December 2015, Haryana Government's amendment to the Haryana Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 2015 was approved by the Supreme Court of India. According to the act, it is mandatory for the candidate contesting the rural local body elections to fulfill the educational qualification and other eligibility criteria.
Haryana Panchayati Raj Act
- On 8th September 2015, the Act was notified to fix matriculation as the minimum and mandatory educational qualification.
- Women candidates of general category should be minimum qualified till class 8th or middle standard.
- Male candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste category should be minimum qualified till class 8th or middle standard whereas women of SC category should be 5th standard qualified.
Where did the 5th Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process concluded - Islamabad
On 9th December 2015, 5th Ministerial Conference of Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process was concluded in Islamabad. The conference was inaugurated jointly by President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani and Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
14 participating states, 17 supporting countries and 12 international and regional organisations delegations attended the event. External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj led the Indian Delegation.

The conference was based on the theme "Heart of Asia-Istanbul Process: Enhanced cooperation for countering security threats and promoting connectivity in the Heart of Asia region".
The purpose of the conference was to strengthen cooperation for contradicting security threats.

- Trade and Investment
- Regional infrastructure
- Counter Terrorism
Yangon Stock Exchange inaugurated by - Myanmar
On 9th December 2015, a new stock exchange, named Yangon Stock Exchange (YSX) was inaugrated in Myanmar. In march 2016, six companies are planning to start trading.

Who has sworned in as the President of Argentina - Mauricio Macri Blanco
Among the important International Current Affairs, On 10th December 2015, Mauricio Macri Blanco was sworn in as the President of Argentina by replacing Cristina Elisabet Fernandez de Kirchner.
Macri is the leader of the centre-right Cambiemos (Let's Change) coalition. After 12-years of leftist government, Argentina will see the centre-right leading the government.
Earlier to this appointment, since December 2007, he held the office of government of Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina.

Few other personalities who were honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award include : French actress Catherine Deneuve, award-winning French-Tunisian actor Sami Bouajila and Egyptian actor Ezzat Al Alayli.
