South Asian Women Development Forum to organise summit at Kathmandu on - 11th September 2017
SAWDF is organising ‘Across Barriers-International Business Women’s Summit’ on 11th and 12th September 2017 at Kathmandu, Nepal. The two-day event is aiming to encourage partnerships between women entrepreneurs from the SAARC and the ASEAN member countries including China. The Ministry of Agriculture, US Embassy in Nepal and the Department for International Development (DFID), UK is providing financial support to the event.
Important Highlights
- Approximately 80 delegates from 18 different countries are participating in the event.
- The basic objective is to bring people together from different sectors on a single platform and enabling them to share their knowledge, skills, experience and innovative ideas.
- The event is showcasing different domestic, locally manufactured products and international products with an aim to create awareness about entrepreneurship amongst women.
- From India, Pakistan and Malaysia, three women working in the IT sector (Information Technology) would be participating in the event.
- Tourism sector, traditional textile and related industries would also be the main highlights.
- It would also be providing a platform for the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) across the nation and SAARC and ASEAN countries to explore new opportunities in cooperation and joint investments with potential counterparts.
- The event would also help to transfer technologies between participants.
- According to Pramila Acharya Rijal, President of South Asian Women Development Forum, around 70 women have already registered for the event and 50 among them are from Nepal.
