Tibetan Protestors Mark National Uprising Day on - 10th March 2019
Hundreds of Tibetan protestors acted a protest & submitted a memorandum to the Office of UN India to mark the 60th Anniversary of their National Uprising Day.
National Uprising Day: Tibet- March 10th which memorializes the 1959 Tibetan Uprising is celebrated as the National Uprising Day by Tibetan protestors.
- On March 10th 1959, thousands of Tibetans pushed to the streets of Lhasa rising up against Communist China’s occupation of their motherland.
- Tibet was conquered by China in 1951. Tibetans had crowned Dalai Lama, selected at the age of 2 in
1937 as the 14th avatar of Tibetan Buddhism’s supreme religious leader. - Coexistence of Beijing authorities & Dalai Lama at the Tibetan plateau resulted to Problems.
The Chinese Authorities summoned him to a programme without his bodyguards on March 10th, where Tibetans be afraid of a trap that could endanger their leader. - Fearing for the life of Dalai Lama, Tibetans fenced the home of the Dalai Lama, the Potala Palace, to safeguard his life & to support the cause of Tibetan country.
- As Chinese soldiers opened fire, thousands of protestors lost their life. On the night of March 17th, the Dalai Lama escaped into exile across the Himalayas into India.
