The commission also has notified the candidates about various posts in civil, mechanical and Electrical. SSC department has allowed the aspirants to apply the online application form for SSC JE for their favorable posts from their official website. ELIGIBILITY OF JE EXAMINATION
Educational Qualification: The qualifications of education of a candidate for SSC JE recruitment are divided into two sub- categories. Firstly, candidates who want to apply for SSC JE Civil jobs and secondly, SSC JE Mechanical and Electrical must be eligible as:
- Junior Engineer (Civil) : CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil Engineering through a recognized university or a college.
- Junior Engineer (Civil) : Department of Posts – B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Civil engineering through a recognized university or a college.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical) : CPWD – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Electrical Engineering through a recognized university or a college.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical) : Department of Posts- B.E. / B.Tech. / 3 years Diploma in Electrical engineering through a recognized university or a college.
- Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical) : Central Water Commission – B.E. / B.Tech. / Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering through a recognized university or a college.
- Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical) : MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering through a recognized university or a college and with at least a 2 years work experience in electrical/mechanical engineering works.
- Junior Engineer (Civil) : MES – B.E. / B.Tech. in Civil Engineering OR 3 years Diploma in Civil Engineering through a recognized university or a college and with at least a 2 years work experience in civil engineering works.
Age Limit for SSC JE : The Aspirants who are applying for this exam should be between 18 to 32 years of age to apply for the SSC JE selection. The relaxation in age will be applicable as per by the Government of India rules in SSC. For Staff Selection Commission, different posts that have different age limits are mentioned below:
- For Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical), Central Water Commission and CPWD the candidate's must be less than 32 years or equal.
- For Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical), MES candidate's age should not increase of 30 years
- For Junior Engineer (Civil and Electrical), Department of Post and Junior Engineer (Surveying and contract), and MES candidate's age should be lying between 18 to 27 years.

SSC notifies each year for the interested and eligible candidates for Junior Engineer (JE) posts as in the form an SSC competitive test that is held all over India. All the candidates who match the eligibility criteria are invited to fill the online application form for SSC JE. SYLLABUS FOR JE EXAMINATION
- There are two written stage for the SSC JE examination namely paper-1 and paper-2.
- SSC JE Paper-1: Paper 1 will consists of three parts namely General Intelligence & Reasoning (fifty marks), General Awareness (fifty marks), and General Engineering (hundred marks).
- General Engineering comprises of 3 parts: part-A (Civil & Structural), part-B (Electrical) and the last one part-C (Mechanical). Candidates can apply for any of these exams keeping in mind about their relevant category of job.
- SSC JE Paper-1 will be objective type and will carry 200 marks and exam duration will be 2 hours.
- There will be negative marking and will cost you 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-1 only so not to guess the answers will be a good choice.
- SSC JE Paper-2: this paper is very conventional type and will carry three parts in which only one part will be attempted by the candidate relevant to the applied JE post. Total number of marks will be 300 and exam duration will be 2 hours.
SELECTION PROCESS
In the process of the selection of candidates, there will be two stages involved. Every candidate should obtain at least passing score for being selected in SSC JE posts. The two stages are mentioned below:
Stage 1: Computer Based Test
- Computer Based Test (CBT) will appear in paper 1.
- Paper 1 of the SSC exam will be objective.
- The total number of marks will be 200 which will contain General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness questions
- Part A: General Engineering (Civil and Structural)
- Part B: General Engineering (Electrical) and
- Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical)
- Only those candidates will be called up for paper 2 (conventional) who will pass the paper 1 and score above the cutoff marks
- The date of the papers will be notified to the candidates by the SSC.
Stage 2 : Written Examination
- The paper 2 will be conventional
- There are a total of 300 marks.
- Part A: General Engineering (Civil and Structural)
- Part B: General Engineering (Electrical)
- Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical)
The sorting and selection of the candidates will be confirmed on the basis of the marks obtained by the aspirants in both Paper-I and Paper-II. The preference about the posts entered by the candidates accordingly will also be given due prominence. Division of the candidates to the departments will be completed on the basis of merit.
