    IBPS CLERK CWE EXAM- Prelims Preparation

    IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts a common written exam or CWE each year for the recruitment of clerical cadre in various banks branches all over the country. All public sector banks branches use CWE as a base to fill the vacancies for this post.

    IBPS conducts Clerk exam each year since 2010 and names each exam according to its year, for example exam of 2013 becomes IBPS clerk CWE 3 and so on. The IBPS Clerk CWE exam has two stages of selection- preliminary exam and mains. Students who qualify in both of these exams are selected for the post.

    PATTERN OF IBPS CLERK CWE EXAM- PRELIMS

    The preliminary exam of IBPS Clerk CWE is an online exam and testing a candidate on the basis of their aptitude, intellect and English is its motive. A total of three sections are asked to complete and the candidate must clear the cutoff of each section to proceed to the next stage - mains. Candidates are asked to solve the question paper in the time duration of 1 hour. The maximum marks of the paper are 100 and the passing marks are decided by IBPS which changes every year depending on the level of difficulty of this exam.

    Quantitative Analysis:

    The total number of questions asked in this section is thirty five which is the same as reasoning aptitude test. Questions asked according to every topic are mentioned below as follows:

    Arithmetic Questions ( Percentage, Profit and Loss, Ration and Proportion, SI & CI, Time and work, TSD, SI &CI, Mixture and allegations, Averages, Problems on Ages etc)

All the environmental issues i.e. legal, political, financial, important events, economy, Questions on Indian Economy, laws, government schemes, the latest science, and inventions, and discoveries are covered into this section of IBPS clerk examination.

    Static GK -

    You can guess on this one after reading the name, as this portion asks for only that knowledge which is static in nature, via that happens or happened once in the time period. So you need to prepare topics like-

    NEGATIVE MARKING

    There is a penalty for wrong answers marked in both prelims examination as well as in mains examination. If your answer is a wrong answer to an objective question, then this will lead to a penalty of one-fourth of the total mark assigned to that question. There won’t be any penalty if a candidate doesn’t answer a question and leaves it as a blank

    SCORE CALCULATION

    The final score for the IBPS Clerk CWE exam is calculated by keeping the below mentioned points in mind:

    • Marks obtained in the Preliminary Exam will not be considered for selection.
    • The candidates must qualify for the mains exam in order to clear the selection.
    • Out of 100, the aggregate score is used for the final merit list for each category. Candidates who top the merit list are selected for further recruitment processes
