KEAM Exam - Syllabus, Eligibility and Exam Pattern
Updated : 16-Jun-2017KEAM (Kerala Engineering, Agriculture & Medical) which means Kerala Engineering, Agriculture and Medical is known to be one of the most popular entrance examinations that get conducted on a state level.
However, each and every year large number of candidates appears in this examination.
KEAM University offers great opportunities to eligible applicants to get admission in numerous professional courses such as engineering, medical, agricultural, architecture, forestry etc. It is also a state level examination conducted by CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examination), Kerala.
All the interested applicants can apply for KEAM from the official website of KEAM only. From next year in the month of January, the applications can be easily available.
If we talk about the fee, then the application fee for general applicants will be Rs. 1000 and for SC applicants will be Rs. 500 only. Also the ST applicants will be exempted from application fee. Though, the applicants can pay the application fee through security card or demand draft which can be drawn on a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank in favor of CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examination), Kerala payable at Thiruvanthapuram.
Have a look on the KEAM eligibility criteria -
- The candidates must be an Indian national.
- Person of Indian Origin/Overseas citizen of India can also apply for this exam.
- The applicants interested to get admission in professional courses will also be categorized as Keralite, Non-Keralite category I and Non-Keralite category II.
- The candidates must have qualified 12th standard or equivalent examination scoring minimum 50% in Mathematics individually and 50% in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics together.
- To apply for KEAM exam 2017 the minimum age is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Here is the examination pattern -
The KEAM examination will be having at least two papers. One for the engineering and another for the medical. Each examination paper will be having 120. Also for each correct answer, 4 marks will be given and for wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted.
KEAM examination will be held in 2 parts with the duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes for each part.
MCQ type questions will be also there in the KEAM examination.
The KEAM examination will be held in offline mode.
Total 120 questions in each paper.
Know About the Examination Syllabus -
However, the syllabus for engineering will consists of following subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and for medical it will consists of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
The syllabus for this exam will be or 12th standard or equivalent.
